Ian:

Welcome to the tragic world of "Ian". This film is our take on the way in which mainstream television introduces disability into a programme. We wanted to poke fun at the attitude towards disability in mainstream television as we felt that there were very few ways in which writers and producers were willing to develope a character with a disability.

The story follows a young man who wakes up one morning and decides he has nothing better to do than kill himself. Firstly Ian takes some pills with a considerable amount of lager. This fails to do the job. So, feeling more than a little dissapointed he ventures out into the world in order to carry out plan B.

This plan concerns a dusty road and a fast moving yellow car. His plan is to wait on the dusty road until the forementioned yellow car arrives in order to knock him down, thus rendering him dead. Good plan, or so he thinks...

These images show exactly what happens during the mid section of the film leading to the finale in which Ian is in his brand new wheelchair being cared for by a rather attractive PA. Perhaps Ian was rather hasty in his descision to die!

This comic look at disability may seem a little cynical but we felt it was about time we made a film showing exactly how silly and over simplified the mainstream view of disability on TV appeares to people like us.
